Mural firm chooses New Hampshire to raise the bar in fine decorative
arts.
Manchester, NH - If you thought magnificent fine
art on a grand scale could only be found in European cathedrals or
big art museums, then you haven't yet stumbled across New
Hampshire's own Wilcox & Co. Fine Murals. Recognizing a missing
traditional element in the modern mural market, Wilcox & Co. Fine
Murals formed in December 2006 as a unique firm of classically
trained artists who all share one vision: to produce the highest
quality pictures for discerning decorative arts connoisseurs.
Many locals don't realize New Hampshire's history in the world of
art. New Hampshire has been the state of choice for many great
artists to locate and draw inspiration. Notable artistic figures such
as Daniel Chester French, Edmond Tarbell, Augustus Saint Gaudens and
Maxfield Parrish were all settled and working in the state. Many of
their studios are still accessible as museums.
"It's inspiring to think that such great art has been made in our
own backyard. Wilcox & Co. Fine Murals is adding to the legacy of
New Hampshire's artistic tradition," said Paul Hillrigal, Regal
Design International.
Many things have changed since Maxfield Parrish stopped working in
the state, but New Hampshire's growing support for the arts and its
relatively affordable industrial space provides a perfect location
for a startup company like Wilcox & Co. Fine Murals to call home.
New Hampshire is positioned just right, enabling access to the big
city markets of New England and New York, without the price tag.
"We wouldn't be able to afford the time to produce pictures with
the quality we do if we had to worry about the heavy overhead of
being based in New York or Boston. New Hampshire is the perfect
environment for us," said Eric Uhrynowski, a partner at the firm.
The Granite State's incentives for small business startups, and the
support and encouragement of other local artists have provided Wilcox
& Co. Fine Murals the ability to compete with the bigger and more
established mural firms in the country.
The unique approach of Wilcox & Co. starts with its artist's
training. Each individual who works for the firm has trained for at
least four years in a school, which has been modeled after the
nineteenth century French academy, also called an "Atelier." The
sound classical training each artist has is the firm's most valuable
asset. Wilcox & Co. has modeled themselves after the studio of Peter
Paul Rubens with the philosophy that no individual artist could make
such great pictures alone. It's a team effort from start to finish
with nothing but quality as their master.
Wilcox & Co. Fine Murals works locally and nationally with Interior
designers, Architects, and private individuals on projects both large
and small. They provide free consultations for all their clients.
Though Wilcox & Co. Fine Murals is a new company, they have their
sights on nothing short of producing grand pictures to rival those of
the great masters. Visit www.wilcoxmurals.com and see what kind of
quality New Hampshire can foster in the arts.

- Looking To Recommend A Summer Read? -
E. Tara Scurry Takes Readers On An Emotional Journey With Storm of Roses
(SILVER SPRING, MD) Summertime - There's nothing better than sitting outside
by the pool, in the park, or curled up on the couch getting lost with a good
read. Some of the most compelling reads today are poetry and short stories
because they are quick, engaging, and enable the reader to relate on many
levels. E. Tara Scurry's first book Storm of Roses (February, 2006) does
just that. Best described as similar to a box of chocolates - some crunchy,
some chewy, some hard to chew, but all of them delicious - Storm of Roses is
a collection of raw poetry and short stories that provoke reflection on
subjects and emotions most people rather keep internally.
Storm of Roses is about pleasure, life, death, spirituality, fantasies, and
daydreams. Scurry believes there's a rich and irresistible freedom and
permanency that comes from the written word and hopes her prose reaches deep
inside the reader's soul, encouraging them to second-guess reality,
challenge their current philosophies, relate and reflect the words to their
own lives, and simply be entertained.
Scurry is available to discuss:
* Why interest in poetry and short stories is making a comeback
* Why subjects included in Storm of Roses 'hit home'
* How to take the steps in getting your prose self-published
