What a Difference a Slipcover Makes!

by
Ellen M. DuBois

I have an overstuffed chair and ottoman in my den, and it's THE place where I watch television, relax with a good book or magazine, all in the company of my wonderful dog.

The question quickly arose when I brought the little guy home. How could I enjoy having him on the furniture with me, without ruining it? So, I tried everything-from blankets to sheets I no longer used. They worked fine, but LOOKED terrible! So, night after night I performed the tedious task of taking them off, folding and putting them away. This grew old very quickly!

Gone are the days when slipcovers LOOKED like slipcovers. They don't. They are simply beautiful, and, if you get tired of the look, they're so easy to change! The answer? A slipcover! Why didn't I think of that before? The benefits were many. My chair no longer looked like the room was about to be painted, AND I got a brand new look for a fraction of the price of buying a new chair. I didn't NEED a new chair- I needed to protect the one I had! What a relief. No longer did I have to fold blankets and sheets every night, and, I must say, it felt great to look at what appeared to be a new chair, in the colors and patterns I loved.

One other tidbit, but an important one: The slipcover stays in place. No fussing over it. A little fluff here and there and I'm done. I did the same without a slipcover, only now, my furniture looks better!

The slipcover was the answer, and could be yours, too.

Gone are the days when slipcovers LOOKED like slipcovers. They don't. They are simply beautiful, and, if you get tired of the look, they're so easy to change! Also, they are washable- a BIG plus! So, if you've got a pet who likes to watch a movie or two with you, or just had someone spill a drink on your favorite piece of furniture, don't worry! Slipcovers 'slip' right off and into the washer in no time. Try doing THAT with a chair! Furniture Fun- Fun, Flair, Furniture!
