As an artist and writer, I am a firm believer in the deep connection between art and healing. My own own life reflects my positive commitment to art as a tool that can be used to renew and regenerate the spirit and act as a constructive catalyst for change.
After recovering from a debilitating illness that left me unable to write, I tentatively picked up a brush, dipped it into some paint, and found that I could create art --and in the process of creating, I found my lifeline back into the world. At the time I was going through my transition, I didn't know about the scientific studies that had been done on the healing power of art, nor did I know that art heals by changing one from the inside out, and not the other way around.
When you are in the presence of serene and calming art, and that presence speaks to you in a way that reaches you on a spiritual level, the physiology of the body also changes from being stressed out to being deeply relaxed, and from being fearful to creative. I found that when I felt stressed or uneasy, just looking at one of my own watercolors, calmed me down. And the process of painting, itself, is an experience that, for me, can be so uplifting that it can take me from one level to another, much higher level, where worries don't exist.
I have a medium sized room with two windows. I have white trim and closets with a light brown colored furniture but a bamboo colored dresser it was passed down. Right now its a green blue. Should I keep like this or change it to a light purple or robins egg blue? If you have any other ideas it would really help because I am redoing it soon. Thank-you.
i have had built a 13x16 room for entertaining friends and for my son and i to hang out..i would like to find a color scheme that is calming and cool to the eye without using cream or beige colors since the ceramic tile is a beige and cream mixture in it..i have three color of curtians that can go into the room..one set of curtians are a light robin egg blue, the other is a dark royal blue and the last one is a floral curtain with red satin roses with green leaves..
Designing Online's Home and Garden Resource directory has been given a fresh new look! In addition to the obvious new page header, many subtle changes were made to ensure it's easier to navigate within the directory and also to ensure that other directories and search engines can also read and index the information better than before.
The index will shortly be expanded to highlight many of the specials, sales and events of the websites listed within. It is our intention to create an environment that is genuinly helpful to all our visitors and to those listed there as well. A wonderful balance will be created that will benefit all.
We have also just included a link to the Home and Garden forum at the bottom of all resource pages. Our existing forum has been in place for quite some time, but we are currently developing a much more sophisticated version which will be available soon. You are all invited to start dropping by often and help us get that off the ground.

What do you need to do to be a part of the magazine? All you need to do is provide the data...the article or poetry or recipe or painting, etc. and we do the rest. We create the html for the page layout. We provide a picture for an article if you did not have one to provide. We extract keywords and phrases and a page description for your item so that search engines will index it best. We advertise and promote the magazine throughout many different places on the Internet and we have regular paid submissions to the primary search engines and directories.

Article Reproduction
Any article within Dreams Alive Magazine that is written by an author who has agreed to be included in our Pre-Approved list, may be reproduced without further need of approval, as long as you follow some very simple guidelines, such as providing reciprocal links, holding onto bio info, etc.
This is such an easy way to add content to your website without having to dig endlessly for Home and Garden articles. We often find many articles we would love to use, but there is either no indication of re-print rights or even any contact info. We have gone so far beyond this by coming right out and saying..."This author has approved the use of their article and here is all the information you need.".
Even for those authors not on the Pre-Approved list, each article is provided with contact information that will allow you to easily contact the author. Their answer to you will almost always be yes. Some authors just prefer better tracking.
