Removing Indoor Air Pollution With Plants

Do you know that formaldehyde, a colorless, pungent-smelling gas can cause severe health effects to us? Sources of formaldehyde are:
- environmental tobacco smoke and combustion sources (burning wood, kerosene and by automobiles)
- preservatives in some paints, cosmetics and coating
- finish used to coat paper products
- pressed wood products and furniture made with these pressed wood products
- certain insulation materials such as urea-formaldehyde foam insulation (UFFI) and fiberglass insulation
- durable press drapes, other textiles, and glues.
Wow! Looking at the list, there must be plenty of formaldehyde in our homes! The scary part is formaldehyde can cause watery eyes, burning sensations in the eyes and throat, nausea, and difficulty in breathing when exposed at elevated levels. It has also been shown to cause ....

New Column Added To Dreams Alive Magazine
One of the primary purposes of Dreams Alive Magazine is to provide an atmosphere where you can share your talents with the world. You can perform this through writing, painting, sculpting, photography, etc. We always have and always will feel honored by those of you who have joined with us to make this magazine the true gem that it is.
Savannah Skye, aka Savvy, has provided poetry for our online magazine for nearly every issue since we started. I have found her to be a truly creative and expressive light in the world. It's my honor and privilege to announce that she has established her own column in the magazine. The new column, "Savvy's Thoughts" will begin in our upcoming Christmas edition, due to be released the first week of November.
To some, this may seem to be a simple thing, but there is a connecting of hearts whenever we grow. Many of our contributors are individuals who's names are often a part of the office conversation and our personal prayers. Nobody comes into my life by accident and so nobody will ever be received with less than every desire for the very best events to occur.
Our Peace, Love and Joy is extended to you, Savvy. Welcome aboard.

Spruce Up Panelled Walls

I am turning my 6 yr olds room into a "cowboy" room. He had wall paper on one wall and the other three are dark panelling (sp?) I brown papered the wallpapered wall giving it a leathered look, but can not figure out what to do to the panelled walls???? My sister mentioned painting it but giving it that distressed look. This may work, but what colors, and how do you do it? Will this work on panelled walls? Any tips or other ideas for this!! Please help!

What Comes First, The Bedspread Or Curtains?

We have just painted our guest bedroom. I would like to purchase the bedspread, shams, skirt etc. first, so we can pick out a colour to match the window coverings. My husband thinks we should purchase the curtains first and then match up the bedspread. What is the best way of doing this. (The curtains will be full length pinch-plete sheers.)
