Come inside
The fire is warm
The apples polished
And waiting beside the hearth
In the old wicker basket that holds promise
And entwines our dreams;
We've all been waiting,
Poetry has been holding its breath
In anticipation of your presence;
Escape the cold
The crackling wind
The twigs that break beneath bitter steps
And come inside
Come within
To autumn joy.

Dragons breathe fire.
Be glad you’re not the town crier.
The first one to yell
Is the first one to hell.
Live for the love of your lady-
The one that carries your baby.
Your steed is gallant
And in your armor you are valiant.
Fight with a pike
Your enemy falls at three strikes.
Collect your treasures
Then your pleasures.
A wishing well
A heart does swell.
She meets her warrior
But not in the foyer.
A one horned horse,
And the pot of gold of course.
Mixing the tales
A writer prevails.
Fairies at twilight
Whispers in the moonlight
Isn’t it nice to delight?
